Pre-requisites: Students have passed all the prescribed exams of the study programme. In consultation with the mentor, they have selected a dissertation topic from one of the specific fields of Art History covered by the study programme.

Course objectives: In the dissertation, the student shows the ability to solve specific tasks and problems in the domain of the profession, to connect and apply knowledge in a multidisciplinary way, to monitor and apply new results, ideas and achievements in the field.

Course description: Dissertation is the student’s research in which they learn about the methodology of research in a selected area, in the domain of undergraduate programme of study in Art History. The student selects a topic in consultation with the mentor. The dissertation consists of the following chapters: Introduction, Discussion, Conclusions, Literature review, and if necessary, a list of reproductions or other appendices such as chronology, biographies of artists, and the like. The student orally defends the dissertation.

Learning Outcomes: Student is qualified for: a) analysis, synthesis, inference; b) mastery of the methods and procedures of research; c) the development of critical and self-critical thinking; d) application of knowledge in practice.
