Pre-requisites: Completed undergraduate degree in history of masters degree in history, regular class attendance and fulfillment of all requirements

Course objectives: Systematically examining ideas of nationalism, yugoslavianism, democracy, communism and fascism, which shaped life in Yugoslavia; critically examining the role of elites in their creation, propagation or rejection.

Course description: Theoretically, this course is comprised of lectures on the origins and roots of nationalism, yugoslavianism, democracy, communism and fascism, their forms, specific characteristics and ways these ideas took hold in yugoslavian territories, most prominent representative and followers from intellectual circles, political, economical, religious and military elites, as well as consequences of ideological preferences.

Learning Outcomes: Forming opinions on the most important ideas, their representatives or those in opposition, on the basis of critically evaluating texts and literature; building a professional environment, independence in research and the ability to present one's research results.
