Serbian and Bosnian settlements in the Middle Ages

Pre-requisites: Students should be familiar with the current physical geography of the central Balkans. Students are required to attend classes and take an active role in attaining class goals, as well as complete one paper on a chosen topic.

Course objectives: This course provides a more detailed look at the issues surrounding settlements and the settling of lands in Serbia during the middle ages; types of structures and settlements during their historical development.

Course description: This course will examine the material chronologically and by looking at specific issues, in order to gain a holistic picture of the settlements in Serbia during the middle ages, in the context of its political and economic history.

Learning Outcomes: Students gain a deeper understanding of the problematics of settlements and settling of lands in Serbia during the middle ages and types of structures during their historical development.
