Pre-requisites: The attendance at lectures and interactive in-class activities is mandatory.

Course objectives: The goal of the course is to introduce students with the beginnings, development and trends in art of the XV and XVI century while perceiving the artistic designs and creations in their theoretical, cultural and social context, and comprehending the most important phenomena of European civilization.

Course description: The content of the course is focused on process of comprehending fundamental principles and values of European art and culture of renaissance and mannerism, as well as their present existence and influences on modern world. This process also includes students acquiring knowledge and understanding about art creations from the particular period of time via literature, museum collections, field and on-site activities, and electronic data basis.

Learning Outcomes: The course is designed to introduce and acquire students with knowledge and conception of pieces of art of renaissance and mannerism.
