Course objectives: Gaining relevant knowledge and facts on the Roman army on the Danubian section of the limes.

Course description: On the basis of epigraphic and numismatic sources, students will be introduced to the history of the Roman army units along the Danubian section of the limes. They will study various problems related to the deployment and movements of the legions and auxiliary regiments in the Danubian provinces (Raetia, Noricum, Pannonia, Moesia, Dacia), as well as the history of the provincial fleets and numeri.

Learning Outcomes: Students will acquire basic knowledge and facts on the history and development of the Danubian limes.
