Course objectives: Understanding, critical review of the position and projections of adult education in the strategies of social development; training for independent research and creation of educational programs to support social groups and empowering individuals for participation in the social environment

Course description: Theoretical course: Political and social functions of adult education; Social functions of adult education - from utopian to emancipatory; Positions and basic functions of adult education in contemporary approaches to the social development of communities, groups and individuals; Specificity and complexity of research on the social function of adult education; National, European and global dimensions of social functions of adult education; National strategy for social development; Possibilities and positions of adult education in these strategies; Practical course: Different programs, forms, methods and techniques of adult education as a support to social promotion and participation of different social groups; Social aspects of adult education in global movements - education for all, literacy, poverty reduction, civil society development, peace and tolerance, gender equality, international dialogue

Learning Outcomes: Student is capable of achieving a critical insight into the real power of adult education in social development strategies, exploring the functions of adult education in social actions for the protection of social groups, evaluating the goals, content and outcomes of educational programs for support groups and individuals
