Practicum - Sociology

Pre-requisites: Knowledge of social theory and research methods in sociological research.

Course objectives: Students will, guided by the mentorship of a professor chosen according to their field of interest, practically apply their methodological and academic knowledge within the framework of a research project. The basic goal of this class is for students to master the whole research process.

Course description: In a team or individually, students will choose a topic of research in agreement with their mentor. While cooperating with a mentor, students will write a hypothesis and create a research framework, methods, research plans, conduct research, work with data and prepare appropriate written work (papers). The results of student's practical work will be an article that presents a theoretical and hypothetical framework, research methods and analysis of material.

Learning Outcomes: Students will - individually or in a team, with the support of a mentor - create and implement a research project in which they will either present or further existing knowledge and material on their chosen topic through sociological research.
