Pre-requisites: Condition of registration: Exam "Sociology of mental disorders" passed.

Course objectives: The goal of the course is to make students familiar with the basic concepts of systemic family therapy and theory.

Course description: Acquiring knowledge is interactive and consists of two parts: theoretical (lectures) and practical part. Course components: 1) Exploring theoretical aspects, getting familiar with social and clinical assumptions the Systemic family theory and therapy development, basic concepts, different models of systemic psychotherapy and the basis of its clinical application. 2) Practical aspect: Students will be engaged in the thematically designed workshops, dealing with topics on the impact of social and family circumstances (socioeconomic status, racial, national affiliation, sexual orientation of members) on the practice of systemic family therapy. The outcome of the practical work is an essay on the covered topics and the preparation for the oral exam.

Learning Outcomes: Gaining insight into theoretical knowledge of systemic family therapy and theory.
