Pre-requisites: Knowledge of French, German or English is desirable, not necessary.

Course objectives: Students will get acquainted with major ideological trends in modern philosophy.

Course description: The course follows the process of generation of modern concept of man as rational, critical, skeptical and autonomous person, who beleives in experimental science and demands the rule of law. Also, the course follows irrationalistic reactions on this major trend in modern philosophy.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course, students will be familiar with the ways in which various philosophers of Enlightenment have contributed to the creation of modern concept of man, as well as with its most important critiques.
